AI Background Removal KB25026
Introduction
Booth Junkie version 8 and above offers several new AI features, including the ability to remove the background from photos automatically, using our own AI engine. This removes the need to utilise a bulky chromakey (greenscreen) backdrop at events, and saves time and costs, as well as reducing footprint of the required equipment, not to mention looking much more aesthetically pleasing.
Important: AI Background removal requires a stable internet connection.
Instructions
Open the Admin Panel on Booth Junkie – either press CTRL + O, or, tap the top right corner of the screen.
Once you have the Admin Panel open, you want to select the Options tab, followed by Green Screen.
- Now, select AI Online Background Removal from the Green Screen Mode list
- Next, you will want to open the dropdown labelled Green Screen Images and tick each image that you want the user to be able to cycle between and be able to select for their new background
- Lastly, make sure to turn on the toggle switch for Singleshot, Multishot, or Strip Print, depending on which workflow you want to utilise AI Background Removal on.
- Once you are done, hit the Save button to confirm your changes
- Test your changes by using the Start Booth button

- AI Background Removal is an online service, and is provided in real time. Therefore, it is essential that you ensure you have a stable internet connection available in order to utilise this feature.
- This service is available to all licence holders who hold a valid Premium/VIP subscription, which can be optionally renewed annually.
- This feature is a chargeable service, and is charged against your account – you can topup your account via the Wallet Dashboard page.
- You must have sufficient credit available in order to utilise this feature.
- This cost is incurred for each photo that successfully utilises this feature, regardless of the quality of the result.
- Photo which are not successfully sent through this service, will not be charged for, such as when the service is at capacity, there is no valid Premium/VIP subscription for the machine, or when internet is not available.
